Crouching Tiger 2 Trailer Released
After years of speculation we finally have our first look at Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. In all honesty it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Directed by Yuen-Woo Ping (True Legend, Iron Monkey) the movie looks amazing. The action looks pretty fun and the sets look as epic as you can get on the more limited budget. Add the fact that it’s always great to see Donnie Yen and Michelle Yeoh in a lead role and you have the makings of a good martial arts movie.

What has me worried about the movie is how it is presented. The best way I can put it is how American it feels. The two big issues being the use of English and this awful electronica soundtrack. One of the things that made Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon work when released in the US was that it was uncompromised. There wasn’t dubbing or an American soundtrack. This, this just feels corny. I hope it’s just for the trailer but if not, yikes.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is slated to hit Netflix on February 26, 2016.

X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Is Up
After months of behind the scenes photos on Instagram we finally get our first trailer. Overall I dig it. Despite some iffy acting in the beginning it quickly becomes a cool story about the X-Men versus some kind of mutant messiah. It’s a cool cast and seeing standouts like Havok and Quicksilver return is great. My one issue, and it’s a bit big, is Apocalypse. Ignoring that he looks like Ivan Ooze from the Power Rangers movie I just don’t know what his powers are. I’ve had the same problem with the comic version but all we see is Apocalypse grow big. I have faith in Bryan Singer pulling this off but it’s certainly questionable. Of course we then get Angel looking absolutely badass shooting razors from his wings and all is forgiven.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hite have heard very theaters May 27, 2016.

The Ring vs Ju-On, WAT???
While we have heard very little about US sequel Rings (slated for April 2016) we got our first glimpse at what looks to be the craziest J-Horror movie in awhile, Sadako vs. Kayako. That’s right the creepy girl from Ringu will be taking on the creepy girl from Ju-On. The plot, from what I gathered, is that someone plays the Ringu tape inside the Ju-On house. That’s silly and amazing and all kinds of fun. Bravo J-horror, you have my interest for the first time in quite awhile.

While we don’t have a specific date the movie is slated to be released around June 2016.

Kid Cudi to leave Comedy Bang! Bang!
In a bit of a bummer it was announced on Twitter that this past week’s season finale will be Kid Cudi’s last episode as band leader. First appearing as a guest he took over as band leader mid-season when Reggie Watts left. While not as featured as Watts he made a nice foil for host Scott Aukerman. A cool head in the crazy world of Comedy Bang! Bang! Not to say he didn’t get into the absurdity. Scenes like saving Scott form a View-esque morning show, interacting with Andrew Lloyd Webber (Paul F. Tompkins) and creating his music based on The Temptations (that could only license one song).

Of course his departure felt a bit inevitable. His acting career has slowly built steam over the past year and he just released Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven. Still it’s going to be a bummer not having Cudi behind the laptop doing new music each week. If there’s any positive it’s that the CBB team have shown a great ability to replace bandleaders and I have full faith in whoever choose to fill Cudiland. #Cudlife

Shout out to the horror short Welcome to the Party for the hella boss avatar. I'm not very good at selling this, am I? Anyway just check it out. You'll be filled with laughter. From my actual writing or realizing "Wow this guy needs an editor".
