Oh, God no.
That can’t happen until both Bob and I are dead. And then I’m sure they’ll do it, unless there’s a way our estates can stop it.
I mean, to me, that’s outrageous. Especially since it’s a good movie. It’s like saying ‘Let’s remake Citizen Kane. Who are we going to get to play Kane?’ What folly, what insanity is that? Why would anyone do that?
In all honesty this isn’t really news. If anything it is anti-news since it is the absense of a movie announcement. That said it’s nice to hear a creator say that they wouldn’t let their classic be redone. It doesn’t make suddenly make Forrest Gump not overrated but it helps.
Trailer for Creed Released
Perhaps finally realizing Sly is too old we got a trailer for the Rocky spin-off Creed. Starring Michael B. Jordan (The Wire, Chronicle) as Apollo Creed’s son it follows the kid growing up in his father’s shadow and training with Rocky. As far as the movie and plot it looks fine. What surprises me is the fact that they are going to have a new main character. Sure Rocky is in it but Adonis Creed (dopest name ever btw) is clearly the star. When remakes/new sequels try their best to recreate the original as much as they can. Good on the writers for going out on a limb a bit.
Channel Zero, Based on Creepypasta, Comes to Syfy
Produced by Max Landis (Chronicle) Channel Zero will be a new horror anthology on the Syfy channel. What’s interesting is that the first story will be Candle Cove, a creepypasta by web cartoonist Kris Straub. Now I can hardly imagine a thousand word short story filling out a half hour let alone a season. Still based on the original story there is a lot of room for development. What I find interesting is the fact that the initial season, and apparently ones after, will be based on creepypasta. While there is some creative stuff out there (again like Castle Cove) a lot of it is really bad. Like “I totes got a DVD in the mail and it was the Biker Mice From Mars but THEY KILLED THEMSELVES~!” There is also the more hilarious fact when it comes to credit. These stories have a habit of evolving over time like the urban legends of old. I assume it would go to the original author but by god I hope to see a credit for BronYKillA420 or some such nonsense.

That’s about it for this week’s On Patrol. I realize it’s pretty slim pickings but luckily SDCC is next week. Needless to say expect some big news there. See you next week!
