Officially- Spider-Man to Appear in Marvel Movies
Weeks after the Sony leaks showing interest it’s official, Spider-Man will appear in a Marvel Studios movie. From the press release the current plan is for Spider-Man to appear in a future Marvel movie. After that Sony will release the next Spider-Man film on July 28, 2017 and it will be produced by Ken Feige (Marvel Studios). This release date means Spidey can appear in Avengers 2 (extremely unlikely), Ant-Man (really unlikely), Captain America: Civil War (most popular guess), Dr. Strange (possible) or Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (I want this to happen due to sheer insanity). Buzzfeed also reported that the role is going to be recast. Shame because while it seems to be an unpopular opinion I dug him in the role. While it’s unlikely it brings up the possibility of Miles Morales being Spider-Man. While less of a household name it would add some much needed diversity to the MCU.
Most interesting about this is the fact that it does open up the door for a deal with Fox who have the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four. Obviously they aren’t as desperate as Sony was but it means a deal can work. Adding some of the X-Men to a final battle in Avengers or Tony Stark visiting Reed Richards for science advice would be huge nerdgasm material. It feels like now, more than ever, that the sky is the limit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Neon Demon Sounds Awesome
After the announcement of Keanu Reeves and Christina Hendricks were cast a plot outline came out and oh my god I love the sound of it. Whatculture got an exclusive blurb and… well… let me just quote the site.
…that the film is about a group of supermodels going to extremes in their attempts to keep looking the way they do. What this translates into is voodoo and cannibalism.
Voodoo? Canibalistic supermodels? HOLY CRAP THIS SOUNDS AMAZING. The fact that it comes from the guy behind Drive and Only God Forgives makes it that much cooler.
